At this point, you have probably heard that getting involved is the best way to make new life-long friends, connect to UF, extend your education outside of the classroom, and most importantly have fun! And we couldn’t agree more. We like to think of engagement as purposeful involvement and it comes in a variety of forms. It could be joining an organization that matters to you, your community, or your future career. Or possibly participating in a one-time or weekly event. It could even be getting a job on campus. Being actively engaged is essential to your experience at UF.
It makes your unique experience exactly that, yours.
There are numerous ways to be engaged on campus, and we want to help. If you are interested in a student organization, take our involvement quiz below. This will help narrow down your search and provide suggestions to find your place on campus.
Want to meet with someone for a personal appointment? Not a problem. The Involvement Team (ITeam) meets with any individual looking to get involved on campus. To schedule the appointment, take the quiz, so the ITeam member can get a jump start on recommending organizations that may be the best fit.
Helping people find their niche, that truly meaningful organization, or even generate a new passion that someone didn’t know existed in themselves is something the Involvement Team (ITeam) is excited about doing. The Individual Involvement Consultations, or IIC’s for short, is an opportunity to meet with an ITeam member to discuss the different ways to be actively engaged. These personalized appointments are tailored to fit the need of the individual, their interests, and future goals.
Each semester the Involvement Team hosts Student Organization Fairs, where numerous organizations come out and line the sidewalks of the North Lawn with involvement opportunities. These fairs connect students to new opportunities or events, provide information about membership, and are open to everyone!
Looking for something a little different? Try one of these opportunities. They vary in the level of time commitment from drop in activity, to weekly event, to finding something that is meaningful to you.
Still not sure where to begin? We’re happy to help.
